Support for Utah law enforcement agencies

The FCIC is a resource for law enforcement agencies across Utah. Whether you need investigative support on a financial crime case, access to intelligence, or assistance with a prosecution referral, the FCIC is here to help.

What the FCIC Can Do for Your Agency

  • Help investigate complex financial crimes that exceed local agency resources or jurisdiction
  • Share intelligence on known fraud networks, criminal patterns, and suspect activity
  • Assist with prosecution referrals to the Office of the Utah Attorney General
  • Support multi-jurisdictional investigations involving financial crime
  • Provide training and technical assistance on financial crime investigation techniques

If your agency is handling a financial crime case and would benefit from FCIC involvement, use the form below or contact us directly. We accept referrals from municipal, county, state, and federal law enforcement agencies across Utah.

How to report

Before You File

When submitting a referral or intelligence report, include as much of the following as possible:

  • Your agency name, badge/employee number, and contact information
  • Case or incident number (if applicable)
  • Type of financial crime
  • Known subjects or suspects (names, contact information, account numbers)
  • Description of the activity, including timeline
  • Victims (number and type — individual, business, financial institution)
  • Estimated financial loss
  • Any prior law enforcement contact on this case
  • Type of support requested (investigative, intelligence, prosecutorial, forensic accounting)

What Happens After You File

Referrals are reviewed by FCIC investigators as soon as possible. A team member will follow up with the submitting officer to discuss next steps, request additional information, or confirm whether the FCIC will be opening an investigation.

Intelligence submissions are reviewed by our analyst and entered into the statewide intelligence system where appropriate.
